I was born in Castelo Branco in the centre of Portugal in 1972. My early life was spent surrounded by pine forests in a small village in the house that my Great-grandmother built in the 1920s. She, her friends and the abundant wilderness that was my playground played a hugely influential role.

It wasn’t until I was thirteen that I picked up my first paintbrush. Endless nights with my cousin Jacinto of exploration and creativity using different materials resulted in my first exhibition at the age of fifteen.

Over the next six years, coming and going between Portugal, France and Spain, a further eight exhibitions encouraged my development and led me to an existence of theatrical and musical experimentation.

Exploration of these and the resounding effect of British art culture took me to London where I began an Art Foundation at Woolwich College.

I guess music and Karma brought me to Bristol. Bower Ashton is where I gained an expansion of my creative mind and a BA Hons in Fine Art.

The fusion of this personal historical reflection and the present chaos have encouraged my recent work.
